Cucumbers

There are two main kinds of cucumbers: vining cucumbers and bush cucumbers. Cucumbers are annuals. They need to be replanted each planting season.

Plant cucumber seeds in the ground two weeks after the last frost. They should be planted 1 inch deep and 2-3 feet apart. You can start cucumber seeds inside about three weeks before you plant them in the ground. Cucumbers enjoy heat so a heating mat can be helpful if starting inside. It takes about 50-70 days for cucumbers to be ready to eat. Cucumbers love water and sun. If you put your finger in the soil and the soil feels dry, you need to water the cucumber plant!
