Pumpkins are a great vegetable to grow for cooking or carving. Pumpkins are annuals and need to be replanted each planting season. They need lots of space for their growing vines.

It’s best to plant pumpkin seeds directly in the ground when the ground is 70 degrees or higher. Plant seeds 1 inch deep and 4-8 feet apart. Pumpkins will be ready to be picked in 90-120 days from when you plant them. Your pumpkin will be ready to be picked when it is a deep, solid, orange color. Pumpkins need full sun to grow. Small pumpkins and giant pumpkins take the same amount of time to grow and be ready to harvest.
